“He is unaware of his uni-hair.”

Brian Regan: Live From Radio City Music Hall is the fourth DVD offering from stand-up comedian Brian Regan showcasing one of his routines. Just like the title says this special was taped in front of a live studio audience at the seminal Radio City Music Hall in New York City. An observational comedian who focuses on his own experiences, Regan is more family-friendly than most comedians, with clean language throughout his set. He is a very physical comedian therefore his routine should not merely be heard but rather seen as well in order to fully appreciate the jokes. Not a physical comedian to the degree that, say, Jim Carrey is, Regan has a less rambunctious style but nevertheless uses the stage well. At just under an hour the special moves very quickly. I’m including a list of the topics Regan tackles this go around to help you decide whether it’s something you’re interested in.

Impatient New Yorkers
Healthy Food
Fancy Restaurants
Uncomfortable at Parties
Handshakes and Greetings
This Exit or Next Exit
Words are Weird
Infinity Edged Pools
Sports on TV
Presidential Stuff
Pope Stuff
My Jobs
Voiceover Auditions
Money Confusion
Bad at Dancing
Airport Music
Hotel Problems

In terms of technical specifications I’m happy to report nothing untoward to complain about. The video is a 1.78:1 transfer and the minimally processed colors are well saturated especially the reds and the blacks. I don’t know that upgrading to a Blu-ray transfer would do a whole bunch more for the special especially considering the audio is a Dolby Digital 5.1 track already. No issues in what you see or what you hear.

There are no special features.

I’m a fan of Brian Regan and I believe anyone who also considers themselves such will have nothing to complain about in a purchase of Brian Regan: Live From Radio City Music Hall.
